Dragon’s Complete 4 and 5 Speed Transmissions using gears and Shafts. Dragon Precision Machining is pleased to announce the addition of  Dragon’s 4 speed transmissions to our product line.

Just add oil, your choice of drive sprocket and release lever. They will fit most 4 speed frames from 1970 through early 1984 and are available in two different versions that feature close ratio gears which are highly regarded for their smoothness of shifting and reliability. The 2.44:1 close ratio first gear with 1.35:1 close ratio third is ideal for FX and lighter custom bikes. The 2.60:1 close ratio first with 1.35:1 close ratio third is ideal for FL or heavier touring bikes. Both of these gear sets will allow more usable first gear speed, eliminate the notorious second gear ~ clunk”, and will provide for more pulling third gear. The third gear sets are also the loose roller style. The heavy duty transmission cases are made from p356” aluminum alloy and are heat treated to ~T-6.” Other features include a chrome plated ratchet top assembly and kicker cover.

Both transmissions have 1:1 ratio speedometer drive gears.

All Dragon transmissions are carefully and thoroughly bench tested after assembly to insure quality and workmanship.
